USDKIT Team Working on IFC5–USD Bridge

The USDKIT development team has completed a proof-of-concept application to convert IFC5 BIM projects into USD format. This initiative gives our customers more flexibility when working with data from various CAD software platforms. (Maybe it's time we rename USDKIT to BIMKIT?)

We are using USDKIT Core running in your browser to load a USD file and use Three.js to display the model. This is another example that demonstrates the benefits of having a lightweight customizable USD implementation: compiles in seconds and loads instantly—a fraction of the size of a full OpenUSD binary.
